EVMT ProgRess Limited (EVMT) is proud to announce that its Managing Director, Dr Mark Townley, has recently been awarded the Association for Project Management (APM) Major Projects Leadership Specialist Certificate (MPLSC) in recognition of his 30 years plus involvement as a leader for several high-profile projects and programmes.
Mark, who already holds APM Registered Project Professional (RPP) and Chartered Project Professional (ChPP) status felt that the Certificate would emphasise his level of experience across a wide spectrum of projects and programmes not necessarily evident from being chartered. Dr Townley also felt that the Certificate would equate to the existing International Project Management Association (IPMA) category A or B Project Manager status.

As part of his ongoing support to the development of project management professionals, Mark would recommend that project professionals with between 10+ years’ experience should look to apply for the Certificate as well as achieving ChPP status if not already done so. In support of his application Mark provided detailed evidence for his project or programme leadership roles for the Flagship Training service provision Public Private Partnering (PPP), Type 45 Destroyer Combat System development, integration and acceptance, and Crossrail value engineering.
The evidence was reviewed by two highly experienced APM qualified assessors followed by an hour-long discussion-based interview. Mark would like to thank Mark Reeson and Ian Cowan for their support to the process, and as should be, asking some poignant and interesting questions! The whole process was extremely valuable in highlighting experience, successes, failures, and identifying clearly what a Project Manager can add to complex projects or programmes.
