EVMT has agreed to provide mentoring support and development sponsorship for Alana Tyrell based in Edinburgh via the AAI-EmployAbility back-to-work scheme.

Alana, who is originally from Canada, has a strong background in Event Management often in difficult operating and time-constrained environments. Now keen to use these skills in project settings, EVMT has agreed to help her gain the necessary APM qualifications via sponsorship, as well as provide project management mentoring.

If you are looking for a highly motivated and professional project team member, then please contact Alana at alana.tyrell@gmail.com.

Project ZORRO Making Good Progress

The Seagrass Restoration Project being undertaken by Aisling Collins at Swansea University, with support from the National Oceanography Centre (NOC) in Southampton, has made good progress over the last few months with all site collections now completed, and Aisling submitting her annual status report for peer review.

Aisling has started to analyse the carbon sequestration results and in the spring of next year will start assessing the level of methane being produced in the various environments sampled.

Staff Wellbeing

EVMT’s Marketing Manager, Emma has been very active recently supporting several well-being initiatives. Emma was invited in October to speak ahead of Psoriasis Awareness Week as part of a dermatology panel discussion held in London. Earlier in the year Emma also took part in a photoshoot with the Psoriasis Association for their new website launch as well as social media posts during Psoriasis Awareness Week. EVMT is proud of her continued efforts in supporting well-being issues.

Consultancy Update

EVMT continues to provide Mission System project performance consultancy to Babcock International on the T31 Frigate programme. The contract was extended for a further 12 – 18 months in October.

EVMT supported a Systems Engineering and Assessment (SEA) Limited bid in the summer and if it is successful hope to provide further support in 2023. EVMT worked closely with Mick Higgins from Xacom Limited. Mick and EVMT’s Mark Townley had previously worked together supporting a Harmonic Limited P3M improvement project at Leonardo Helicopters.

EVMT is looking to expand its involvement in marine conservation research projects either directly or via sponsorship in 2023.

And Finally

EVMT and its marine conservation patron Santa Claws would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas, and a happy and prosperous New Year.
